dude...Vanlandingham was stellar...all those years of 200+ IP and All Star appearance. He was clearly the better pitcher.

So, he likes Men Without Hats, then? What can one say to that, but . . . We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind, 'cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance, well, they're no friends of mine.
Ahem.
Anyway, I'm a big Carrell fan, so I love the Americanized "Teh Office." I do need to plow thru the British version on DVD.
Haven't seen "Ricky Bobby" yet, but it's on my list.

Re: Gammons: Giants Sign Zito!
HOLY FACK! 7 years? I'd like Zito for 2-3 years just fine, but to think we'll be paying $18 million a year for someone who will be a 4th starter halfway through his contract is unbelievable. I hope he doesn't have a no-trade contract at least.
Sure, it'll be nice this year, but we don't have a facking chance of competing anyway. This move reeks of desperation more than anything else. He doesn't strike out enough guys, and walks too many for his ERA to be consistent at all.

Gammons: Giants Sign Zito!
It's Edgardo Alfonzo times 4.

That has to be the most over exaggerated and dumbest post I've ever seen.

Re: Gammons: Giants Sign Zito!
Um, I was tooling around over at McCovey Chronicles and someone had posted that Zito has a FULL NO TRADE CLAUSE. Ouch.
Has any heard if this is verifiably and undeniably true? If so, uh, ouch.

Zito's contract is four times as large as Alfonzo's.

His contract would be difficult to move regardless, and the only reason to move him would be if he significantly declines. In that scenario he would be nearly impossible to move anyway.
He does have the full no-trade clause according to the ESPN article.
