Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

San Francisco Giants
Peter Magowan
Team Value $410 mil (#11)

The San Francisco Giants
are owned by Peter Magowan and Harmon Burns,
who bought them in 1992
for $100 mil.

Wins-to-player-cost ratio 76
2005 Manager Felipe Alou

Sport: Portion of franchise's value attributable to revenue shared among all teams. Market: Portion of franchise's value attributable to its city and market size. Stadium: Portion of franchise's value attributable to its stadium. Brand Management: Portion of franchise's value attributable to the management of its brand.

The skinny
Even with star Barry Bonds shelved with a knee injury for all but 14 games, the Giants drew more than 3 million fans during the 2005 season. It became the fourth major league franchise draw 3 million for six consecutive seasons since 1958. But 2006 is a watershed moment for the franchise as the original 7-year contracts on 6,800 club seats expire. The deals had minimal price increases built in, and any new deals will see prices jump as much as 40%. Two losing seasons in a row would have a very negative effect on these sales. The Giants' ballpark is on its third name since it opened in 2000 thanks to SBC Communications' purchase of AT&T and renaming the company AT&T.

Major corporate sponsors are Levi Strauss, Coca-Cola (nyse: KO), Bank of America (nyse: BAC), Visa.

Naming rights sponsor is AT&T (nyse: SBC).
