GAMEBALL

Ahh the promise of youth...
Will Ishikawa be that powerful first sacker we have lacked since Will the Thrill?
Or will he wash out like another JR Phillips, or Tiny Minor.
Well tonight, we can still hope and dream.
Travis is conducting a short Spring Internship with the Big Club. Soon, Travis will take his sparkling glove, and his sweet (aka long) swing back to Norwich to ride the busses to metropolises like Altoona, Bowie, and Binghamton.

But tonight Travis, you get that one thing every kid dreamed of... the Gameball from your First Big League Knock

Tip of the cap to Randy Winn, who with a 2 hit night has quietly lifted his batting average to .377. So much for that fabled "slow start."

Ahh the promise of youth..
The Most heralded prospect the Giants have "produced" since Will the Thrill.
Rookie of the Year? Cy Young? MVP? Hall of Fame?...
Hey.. lets try getting out of the 4th inning without embarrassing yourself....
My fear is this game will be a microcosm of your Rookie year. A little of DAZZLE us with your POTENTIAL, like you did in your first 3 perfect innings. Mixed with a little, FRUSTRATE us with your ROUGH EDGES, like you did in the 4th, where you started with a HR, DOUBLE, TRIPLE, WALK... before you mixed in a DROPPED BALL for a RUN SCORING BALK.....
Ahhhh Cain... I hate you, but I love you.... and really, what choice do I have....

I CAN'T STOP THINKING OF YOU
IT'S TRUE~~~~~

I'M STUCK ON YOU~~~~

... show me you potential and prove why you are top prospect, Cain. of course, you are totally different with Kurt or Jesse. But if you can't prove your poteatial in this season, our rotation gonna walk downhill. i'm afraid that. emoticon

yeah...merkin..you have to make cain sleep in the dog house tonight..tell him to walk the dog too..

Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

GAMEBALL
STEVE FINLEY emoticon

Panic Buttons had been pressed... Pitching Staffs had been used... Staring down the barrel of DBacks Home Field Advantage in sudden death....that top of the 9th was the CRITICAL point in tonights game....
With Omar popping out on the first pitch, the pressure was on... and STEVE FINLEY came through.. He bounced a ball up the middle to start the rally, and kept the pressure on Medders and the DBacks with his baserunning. On Base 3 times and scoring 2 runs, kudos to New Giants Steve Finley

Tip of the cap to Brandon Medders for realizing it is "better to give than receive"
Pedro Feliz for not sucking at the plate at least 10% of the time.. guaranteed

JERK OF THE GAME
JOHNNY ESTRADAemoticon

A wonderful day in the park.... birds are singing....children laughing... JAMEY winning his 3rd in a row.. TIMMMEH notching his seventh save in a row....
But then from the shadows, emerges this devilish troll of a man...
Johnny Estrada.... With one swing of the bat, the fiend turned this lovely day, into a struggle for victory.....
Estrada had the audacity to wake the mighty Barry from his royal slumber. But in the end Barry and His Orange knights rescued the Win from Estrada's Clutches....

GAMEBALL and JERK of the GAME
FRIDAY 4/21 at COLORADO L 9-8
GAMEBALL
PEDRO FELIZ emoticon

Pedro.. I say one thing tonight... THANK YOU FOR NOT SUCKING..... In fact, Pedro STARRED in the game with his BAT and his GLOVE... Yes.. THAT PEDRO
Down by 4, Pedro Clubbed a 2 run Shot to cut the Rockie Lead in half....and in the very next inning Pedro Clubbed a SECOND 2 run shot to cushion the Giant lead to 3 (cushion is ALWAYS important in Coors)
Add to THAT.. Pedro Started TWO 5-4-3 DP's
Hands down.... PEDRO IS THE MAN (at least for 1 night)

Tip of the cap to Schmidt for battling for 7 innings and holding the lead
Munter and Kline for being SOLID in the bullpen

JERK OF THE GAME
GIANTS BULLPENemoticon

Let me just start off by saying... !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$ !@#$!!!! !@#$!!!
OK... now THAT is out of the way.....
Tonight the Giants bullpen snatched defeat from the hands of victory.....
TIMMMEH and ARMANDO combined to surrender a hard fought 3 RUN 9th INNING lead to the Rockies...
TIMMMEH who had been pitching above his head all year, is starting to show his mortality...... and ARMANDO (aka Krispy Kreme) came to the "rescue" with throwing his 89 MPH "Heat"...... Sorry Mando... That straight as an arrow 89 MPH "fastball" is a PORKCHOP to Major League Hitters

Smack of the Stick to Felipe Alou
We knew you were going to Mando, but every Giants fans in the world was yelling.. "Nooooo, Leave in KLINE!!"...... But that Righty vs Righty matchup was too easy for your Alou.....

I maybe the only one on this board but I'm not going to be too tough on Benitez for tonight. I'm going to blame Felipe Alou.

I don't care if the pitcher sucks or not, you don't put in a pitcher that hasn't pitched in a real game situation in about a month and suddenly think he can get out of the mess he was put into(bases-loaded, 0 out).

Alou lied because he said he would ease Benitez back into game action. You start by putting Benitez into a game that is a blowout, then continue by putting him in tougher situations each time. It was horrible mistake that costed the Giants the game.

I definitely think Felipe was out of his mind for doing that.

He also took out Kline, who looked the sharpest of anyone, after easily retiring one freaking batter.

But the fact of the matter is, the bullpen collectively blew it, with a huge push from Felipe

I think Alou did the same thing last year coming back from the Groin Injury too.
Kline looked good against the lefty, and he as always done decent vs Right handers... I know there was no chance of him leaving Kline in with Armando ready.. You or I would have.. but never Felipe.

And if you think about it.. Usually, when a closer blows a save for the major league team, the bullpen is already been used up... The player called in to clean up after the closer (in this case Worrell) is normally one of the last on the bench.....
