Alex Sanchez signs with Reds

Reds signed outfielder Alex Sanchez to a minor league contract.
Sanchez doesn't play center field well enough to be a regular, but as a fourth outfielder, especially an NL fourth outfielder, he makes a lot of sense. He's an obvious upgrade over Quinton McCracken for the Reds, though that doesn't mean he'll have a spot at the beginning of the year. Once Cincinnati calls him up, his stolen-base potential would make him worth picking up in NL-only leagues.

Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

Sanchez is better than McCracken offensively, though Sanchez has poor discipline at the plate.

Sanchez is a poor defender, as you saw last year, but he's a guy that can be used in PR situations.
