Bochy Goes Tactical!

Hey All,

It's nice to see that Bruce Bochy recognized the importance of winning at least one of the four game set with the Nationals, giving Buster Posey rare back-to-back night-day starts behind the dish.

The offensive impact of having Posey at catcher, rather than 1B is essentially whatever upgrade might result from having either Tyler Colvin or Gregor Blanco in the line-up, rather than Hector [sign in to see URL], I guess one could argue that Posey is more likely to be fresher at the end of the game's ABs if he plays 1B.

The real importance of Posey starting at catcher, though, was defensive, as it appears that Bochy is hesitant to break up the battery of Hudson and Posey. Honestly, anything that makes Tim Hudson as happy and comfortable as possible, is good with me.

So thanks, Boch! It's good to see that you're open to making great tactical choices even though the standings wouldn't seem to support the need.

I sure wouldn't argue against the results!
