6/12/2014 Nationals @ GIANTS Gameball and Joker

After the Nationals sent a wakeup call to the Giants in the first three games of this series, the Giants salvaged a game against them with a 7-1 win to avoid getting swept.

GAMEBALL:

Tim Hudson

Tim Hudson continued his incredible comeback season, as he threw seven strong innings on his way to the win.
He's one of the many reasons why the Giants have bounced back this season. The rotation was a huge question mark coming into this season, and now we have two starting pitchers—Hudson and Bumgarner—who seem well on their way to the All-Star Game.
I thought Hudson's career was over after his freak injury last season, and he has turned into the ace of the rotation this season.

TIP OF THE CAP: emoticon

Tyler Colvin: Colvin had a big game. He collected two hits, one of them a triple to get the scoring started in the second inning.

Angel Pagan: He went hitless at the plate, but he made a nice catch at the track to rob Jayson Werth of a hit.

Hunter Pence: Pence was one of two Giants with three hits today.

Michael Morse: He was the other Giant who got three hits in an assault against his former team.

Sergio Romo: Romo struck out the side, and he drilled Frandsen—who I have a lot respect for—likely in retaliation for when Morse got drilled Monday night.

Thom Loverro

For those of you asking who Thom Loverro is, he is the Washington Times columnist, who wrote this personal [url=[sign in to see URL] on Michael Morse.
It's clearly a personal shot at him, and this is precisely what you're taught not to do in journalism school. If I wrote a column like that about one of Sacramento City College's athletes for the school's paper, there's no way in a million years that it would've even come close to being published.
The column also talked about what Morse had to say about the Nationals' decision to shut down Stephen Strasburg in the heat of their playoff run in 2012, and I completely agree with what Morse had to say. It was one of the worst baseball decisions in the history of the game.
It's one thing for a columnist to criticize a player for his lack of performance on the field, but it's way over the line to take a personal shot at him, as Loverro did. My guess is that Morse rubbed Loverro the wrong way during his tenure in Washington, and Loverro, like a lot of columnists and journalists, was itching for the opportunity to get back at Morse.
This is a better picture of Mr. Loverro.

Just the typical wannabe ballplayer who didn't make it as a player, thus decided to critique players with his writing, and by judging from the picture, he may be an alcoholic as well.
How this unprofessional and extremely bitter person has a job, I will never know.

SMACK OF THE STICK: emoticon

Aaron Barrett: The Giants got sweet revenge against Barrett for his missile that hit Morse the other night by torching him for a pair of tuns.

Hey sfg13,

OMG!!!!

Regarding Thom Loverro....

Someone let Jaba the Hutt know we've found his long lost sister!

Dude's probably just mad that Morse wouldn't let Loverro "encase him in carbonite".

KEEP IT DOWN, I OWE JABBA MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT HAVE HIM KNOW WHERE I AM!!!!!!!

Carbonite is nothing, if Jabba finds me, I'll be fed to the Sarlacc.

I've already had a rough enough life, and I don't need to be slowly and painfully digested for 1,000 years to end it.
