Who Dat Say Dey Gonna Beat Da Giants?!?!?!?
Chimps going all N'Awlins on y'all this morning.
In the wake of the Giants' terrible TWO GAME losing streak, I calmed myself by saying "Yeah, but the Nationals are our [sign in to see URL] of a small handful of teams that consistently beat the Giants."
Every team has [sign in to see URL] that simply match up well against other teams that, on paper, and according to W/L records, are superior.
So I looked up who, exactly, has been the Giants' Kryptonite since 2010, and here's what I found....
Reds 10-18 (2-1)
Marlins 12-15 (2-2)
Nationals 11-16 (0-2)
Braves 12-16 (5-1)
The Giants records against these teams from 2010-2013 is followed by their record against these opponents in 2014 in parentheses.
So, overall, the Giants are exercising their demons in 2014, with only the Nationals remaining a problem.
So much of what happens on the field reflects what is happening in players' minds. The Giants need to figure out how to break through on the Nationals, and get THEM thinking about losing.
The last thing I want to see happen is for the Giants to win 100 games, cruise into the playoffs, and then get blanked by the one club that thinks they can get it done.
So c'mon, G-Men! Get thy shite together and deliver some productive 2-out RISP ABs. The Nationals aren't going to beat themselves.
