hitting
Third of the way through, looks like we are good to go. Man I am excited. Our hitting looks like a constant. Starting Pitching will be our strength, along with our defense.

Re: hitting
Hey dadaman,
I've posted here and elsewhere that it's not just the fact the Giants are scoring runs that's making the 2014 club such an offensive success; it's the fact that the roster is so deep and balanced, and that the club doesn't panic when one guy doesn't drive in a RISP with 1 or fewer outs.
The Giants' production with 2 outs has been incredible this season. While some point to the idea of the Giants' hitters feeling confident the guy behind them will pick them up...which I believe is true, BTW...there's also the fact there are few to no black holes in the line-up.
In the past, opposing pitchers didn't particularly care about pitching around the power in the Giants' line-up, because they KNEW that Blanco, Perez, Arias, and the pitcher were waiting for them at the back end of the line-up. 2 on and 2 out, with Blanco coming up? No problem.
Now, even the Giants' black hole, 2B Brandon Hicks, has the ability to be a one man wrecking crew.
So yeah, the hitting has been great so far, and it's been so by design. Despite going with a 4 man bench for much of the season, the club is deeper and more balanced offensively than perhaps any Giants club I've seen since the 2002 squad.
