5/12/2014 Braves @ GIANTS Gameball and Joker

The Giants beat the Braves 4-2, as they are on fire. They have won 14 of their last 18 games.
The Giants are 25-14, and they are two-and-a-half games ahead in the National League West. This is the Giants' best start since 2003, when they had the same record at this point. They were also 25-14 at this point in 1993 and 2002.

This was a very tough call, but the freak got the gameball for his two-hitter.
He was absolutely dominant against the free-swinging Braves' offense, as he struck out 11 on his way to the win. The Braves had nine collective Pablo Sandovals on their team, and they swung at everything within a 10-mile radius, and all Lincecum had to do was throw some high fastballs, and he got an enormous standing ovation as a result.

TIP OF THE CAP: emoticon

Tyler Colvin: Welcome to San Francisco, Tyler Colvin!
He hit a splash hit in his first bat, making him the first Giant to hit a splash hit in his first home at bat. He also knocked in a pair of runs with a triple to give the Giants the lead in the seventh inning.
That was a great first impression.

Angel Pagan: Who had three hits tonight.

Sergio Romo: After choking away the save in LA yesterday, he threw a 1-2-3 inning to end this one.

Jose Fernandez: His story has been a great one, but we heard the news today that he has become the latest pitcher in need of Tommy John Surgery. So here's to hoping he can return just as dominant!

Hunter Pence

Hunter got off to a horrible start, and then he started to swing the bad towards the end of April, but he's fallen on hard times again. He went 0-for-4 tonight, knocking his average down to .250.

Javier Lopez: Who faced just one batter, and it was Freddie Freeman, who smoked one into the pond.
Speaking of which, this was just the second game that each team hit one into the water. The other was May 28, 2001, when ]Felipe Crespo hit one, and Mark Grace hit one for Arizona. Both of those home runs were in extra innings.

Brian Wilson: Our old friend, Weeze just can't stay out of trouble these days. He gave up two runs to the Marlins, and his ERA is [sign in to see URL].
He needs some mojo, so I bet that he dyes his beard blue by the end of the month.

Jim Johnson: Man, he has been brutal across the bay for the A's, as he gave up a pair of runs to the White Sox tonight.
