4/29/2014 Padres @ GIANTS Gameball and Joker

About two or three times a year, warm weather will hit the Bay Area, and when it does, AT&T Park plays like Coors Field.
This was one of those times, so the Giants took full advantage of it by hitting two home runs in the first inning, on their way to a 6-0 shutout over the Fathers.

Petit made the emergency start for Matt Cain tonight, and he did not disappoint. He threw six shutout innings, and he just gave up three hits. He only threw 72 pitches. If you ask me, he could have gone longer, but Bochy's the manager.

TIP OF THE CAP: emoticon

Angel Pagan: Who got the scoring inning with the first of two of his team's first-inning home runs. His tucked just inside the left field foul pole.

Buster Posey: Who hit the other first-inning home run. It got the Giants off to an early 2-0 lead, and Petit got some early run support.

Jean Machi: I do wish that he would pitch a little faster, but two perfect innings out of the pen will make me pretty happy.

Santiago Casilla: He continued the bullpen's perfect game with a 1-2-3 ninth to end it.

I think it's time for someone to come into the clubhouse and give the team a seminar on knife safety. Jeremy Affeldt ended his season when he attempted to cut up frozen burgers back in 2011, and Cain cut himself right before batting practice tonight.
Both Cain and Affeldt hunt in the offseason, so you would hope that they know how to safely use a gun. With that being the case, teaching them knife safety shouldn't be a problem at all. It's not that hard. I'm 19, and I have never cut myself cutting food.
Give the seminar, and put this sign in the clubhouse kitchen.

Jeremy Affeldt: Cain named the culprit who helped him after the game, and it was none other than Mr. Affeldt. Until he gets old and needs to doctor the ball, Jeremy Affeldt is hereby forbidden to touch any knife. This even goes for when he eats dinner at night, so his wife has a new job. If he does, he will be subjected to a penalty of boos.

Eric Stults: He gave up five runs in just two-and-two-thirds innings, that was short.

DBacks: Arizona came into the season with abhorrent pitching, and they are 8-22, their second worst start in franchise history.
I guess the Baseball gods were tired of their organization's nazi-like antics towards opposing fans, so they're really making the DBacks pay this season.
