Re: Re:
Hey pachyderm,
"a tittie thread?"
Okaaaay, but probably in the off-topic section. Regarding the 2014 signings, aside from the sheer cost of Lincecum, it's difficult to find any fault with the Giants' off-season signing decisions.
Hudson has been a reincarnation of himself, with a little Greg Maddux mixed in. Morse has exceeded expectations...in part, because Bochy has done an exceptional job of managing his exposure and health. Colvin was a life-saver when he first came up, and has settled into a great reserve OF role. Guttierrez, while no Machi, has played a key role in the 6th-8th innings.
And there's no way to overestimate the value and positive impact of Ryan Vogelsong's return to 2012 form.
On the meh side, we've got Huff, who I would contend only got lit up when asked to be something other than a lefty specialist. When Cain went down, and Huff was teamed with Petit to cover, Huff went from less than 1 IP per outing to 2 IP per outings, and UP went his ERA.
Hopefully, the Giants will go deep into the playoffs...if not all the way to a championship...and the club will continue to give Brian Sabean the financial bandwidth to keep up this record of success.
Overall grade 1/3 into the season, though? A...gotta be an A.
