UGLY BALL
Yes, it's June. Yes, the division is weak. But the Giants pitching is UGLY and has been for the better part of the year. I'm not sure a single deadline pickup is going to do it...
and now Pablo is out, Pagan is out, Scooter is out... doesn't look like our year, boys.

Re: UGLY BALL
Reminds me a bit of 2005. Injuries plagued our offense, our rotation consisted of Schmidt, Tomko, Rueter, Lowry, Hennessey, etc.
However, I think we will get it together at some point this season.

So you're saying the 2013 Giants' career is over?
I'm not about to give up on the boys' season in June. 2010 didn't look all the great either until about August.
Byco - Mr. Lee's services would truly be appreciated. However, I just don't know if the Giants would be willing to empty out the farm system AND assume $20+M/year for Lee. As we have seen, these Championsip things appear to be based on drafting and developing talent (rather than acquiring high priced vets either through trade or free agency).
Even assuming the Giants were willing to give up all that talent, they would have to contend with teams such as the Rangers, who can offer the Phillies a much, much better package of prospects, while being able to absorb Lee's contract.
In my opinion, it would be much more logical to go after a guy like Ricky Nolasco, Bud Norris, Gallardo, etc. who would not costs nearly as much in talent and money. These guys aren't Cliff Lee, but they should be able to provide more than what the 3-5 starters are giving us now.

Ok Ok... not over. But ugly. Last night definitely helped quell my pantshatting. BIG SUGAR!@#!@!!111!!
Cliff Lee is making more like $25M/yr (and yeah... that $5M matters ) ...which means the giants WOULDN'T have to clean out the already-barren farm system. I wouldn't be surprised if the Phillies traded him for a ham sandwich and a straight salary dump. Do the Giants have that kind of money? You bet your panda-hat wearin, 2 championship trophy wielding, every-game-sold-out chacha bowl ass. Will the trustees sign off and give Sabes the go-ahead? Different question altogether.

The starting pitching in June has been pretty decent. It is the bullpen and the offense that has been lagging lately.
Well if the giants are going to stink this year. This would be the time. Sabean won't have the added pressure to trade whats left of the minors for help.
