Timmy's career is over

I hate to say "I've been saying this for xxxx amount of time", but... yeah. He's done. Worst pitcher in MLB last year, still awful. ZERO command, and no one can fix him. SOOOO glad he didn't take the 4yrs/100M the Giants offered him.

Me thinks Tim may be better coming out of the pen ala the '12 postseason.

Ram, tell me you didn't just use shutting down the Padres lineup as evidence that a pitcher isn't awful emoticon

What do you want him to do, fuq, give up minus runs?

Try to take a good Lincecum performance with a little grace.

No, I'm just not a knee-jerk kinda guy when it comes to baseball, I guess. When a guy has SUCKED for over a year, combined with decreased velocity and increased walk rate over the past 4 years, added to the fact that most scouts said his frame wouldn't hold up over time (and seem to be right in retrospect)... well, the results speak for themselves.

Timmy was THE WORST starting pitcher in the NL last year.

Hell, not even Zito ever accomplished that level of insane sucktitude.

Could he rebound at some point in his career? Sure. Do I hope it happens this year, with the Giants? Only if it's before the ASB and Sabes trades him to a contender in the AL. My biggest fear for the Gs is that Timmy will show modest signs of improvement this year and Sabes will give him a sweatheart deal around 4yrs/100M. I loved what he did for us in the past, but that's the past. He's a BAD pitcher right now, and has been since, what, mid-2011?

But yeah, lldoyle, he didn't crap the bed against the Padres -- at home -- so he deserves a little props. The fact that he didn't give up 4+ ERs in an inning for once this year was simply awe-inspiring emoticon

Tim won his CY's having the same velocity fastball and same splitter as he has now. Only difference as someone already pointed out, location. He's leaving hangers and trying to be too fine. The splitter he had going vs the Pads was the best since those CY days. I dont care who he's facing, that pitch can dominate anyone if its ON.
