From The SBNation Archives...

"Perhaps most interesting is that Lou Seal was given a ring proportional to his own size.
Pablo Sandoval and Juan Uribe will bear similar rings, while Madison Bumgarner will receive a normal one,
and Freddy Sanchez will receive a gold washer."

Jackie Robinson had already retired when the Dodgers tried to trade him to the Giants.

Special edition X men available at Wondercon next weekend:
(Moscone Center April 1st-3rd)

I've never been to one but I do think this is kinda cool, and will likely be considered an instantly valuable collectible.

the link for the first game of the NLDS is broken, but all the rest are downloadable. if you have an mp3 player and or an ipod put it on and stick it in the car and relive it pitch by pitch.

---
Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

Re: Your World Champion San Francisco Giants

You almost had to know that if Barry Zito did something good, SF would raise a world championship banner in 2012 to extend this thread.

He did, in the most clutch of clutch situations (elimination game against STL in STL; game one world series faceoff with Jason Fking Verlander).

And now they will.

Or as the deadball era's Lewis Carroll might have put it while playing for the Jabberwock Nine:

"And hast thou slain our foes today?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy.
O frabjous day! Calooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

There is no talk of pea brains, melonheads, letting Mark Gardner hit with two out and the bases juiced, McCovey liners, Maldonado outfield slides, Snodgrass muffs, Merkle boners, Ransom boots, Cruz Jr. misplays, Salomon Torres starts, or middle relievers short one pitch in Anaheim with Scott Fking Spiezio at the plate.

Just two rings in three years, and the fact that these are your World Champion San Francisco Giants.

Enjoy the parade. I'll catch the next one with you. You don't have to be a Kool Aid drinker anymore to think another one looms on the horizon, so long as Buster Posey has two legs to stand on.
