I will say this now...great road trip...at least 3/4 from Mets...Giant MO (at least in my mind) is to take momentum on an important trip and crap the bed....Bums series will be yes...huge....time to win some games in this facking division.

I am late to this thread but you know me stretch, ever optimistic. I think they'll have that NL West record looking ok by the end of the season as well.

Situation a lot more encouraging now than when this thread was first started.
Still could be a very good story.
Just hoping they are in the same relative position 3 weeks from now. 12 0f the next 19 on the road against the 4 best home record teams in the NL.
As much as I would like to discount the Bums there is too much past history to allow me to do so. At least dont let them die for another 4 days.

This is a very likable bunch, and it's really exciting when they are rolling the way they have been since July 4. It calls to mind the way you could get invested in the ups and downs of the '87 and '93 teams.

August is going to be a very tough month for the Giants, but if they can stay relatively close to the Padres with 4-5 weeks still to go, I like thier chances.

And 3 months after the thread started we have 7 days and 6 games left in the reg season.
The Mule village has been here before and witnessed the good, bad and ugly of our favorite club.
Good to be again in a pennant chase the final week of the season.
