Opinions are like assholes. You have yours and I have mine. Take it from someone who have seen all the bands you have mentioned.....The Jam were/are better than all of those bands. The Clash, Buzzcocks, Specials, English Beat never sold out Wembley for a week.

U2 are just plain awful.....

Yes The Clash did sell out Bonds Casino...I have a rather nice boot of one of those shows. My point was that in the UK The Jam were bigger than all of the bands you mentioned. Not to piss on those bands you mentioned, aside from U2 were/are amazing bands

Oh and define bigger? Quite simple....in The UK The Jam were MUCH more than any of the bands you mentioned...including Elvis Costello and The Attractions. The Clash were an American product circa 1979 with London Calling. The Jam were a UK phemon from the get go. I love both of those bands but really... I am not putting them in the same league as The Who, Stones, Beatles, etc but they do have their place.....debate.............

Helllo??????? JDB...you have this "knowldedge" and you are not backing up anything...."I was at CB's....etc...." Yep me too, I PLAYED there. The Jam were an amazing band. You mention U2...yes as a worldwide band, they have their credentials....BUT so do ABBA or Wham....big deal. The thing about The Jam is that they took The Who, Kinks, Dr. Feelgood and mixed in motown and made their lethal mix that gave them chart success in the UK. Their last tour in 1982 entitled The Trans Global Unity Express Tour was just the beginning of them breaking the US market. If they would have continued, they would have done very well here too.
