Maybe there was a reason the old style ones had twistlock bowl bottoms and no lift. Everything bolted down to handle the power.

Just you rich cooking fanatics have lift bowls. Normal people have 250 watt hinged models that have nothing to break. It also helps if you were to have bought yours in 1969 when they were made by Hobart instead of Whirlpool.

We use ours for a boat anchor. Just dry it out and put back in the kitchen when needed.
