Re: The "Foodie" in all of us...
Outstanding work Monkey, thanks for the link.
You can’t go wrong with the Ferry Building suggestions, although that could change as they are jacking up rents down there, and they could manage to screw up a great place to visit.
Foodies Fearful
Unfortunately, the Tsar Nicoulai Caviar shop that was featured was one of the first casualties, closing last month.
I would add the Slanted Door to the mix as a fine substitute though.
I’m also a big fan of Yank Sing downtown as recommended.
I’m looking forward to checking out Chiarello’s Bottega this summer when I’m up north in the wine country. It looks fantastic, and he hits them in Bondsian fashion.
Also a fan of D&D, but I too have been less than overwhelmed by Fieri’s own places. He did a recent show on Q out in the Richmond.
A good stop before a few pints at the Plough, and the Duck Confit they feature is a four bagger.
Onto the Protland scene, I was watching the other night Chef and caught the piece they did on Pok Pok. It looks like a great place and is definitely on my radar should I find myself in Portland.
--- What beauty is, I know not, though it adheres to many things.

i'm only saying that because my step grandmother said so..if you're a large party going to eat it's going to cost you. the dim sum is only 2 pieces per steamer. usually it's 3 pieces per steamer. so if you think about it..it's going to cost you an extra $6.00 (i believe that's the price for "small" item)

Speaking of dim sum Monkey, you ever go to the Imperial Seafood restauarant over in Concord across from Fry's?
Just had it yesterday and it wasn't bad at all.

no..mostly a sf kind of person. in concord i go to korea house which is in that parking lot area with fry and it's good. lunch special is 8.00 and it's a lot of food. great deal and it's everyday before 3pm. the owner is eccentric and goes to your table and makes "sushi". but really good korean.
