Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

PIAZZA TEARING HIS GROIN AVOIDING A PITCH FROM SCHMIDT
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--
Piazza came to bat in the first inning with runners on first and second. San Francisco starter Jason Schmidt went ahead in the count, 1-2, before wasting an inside fastball. The pitch nearly hit Piazza in the midsection, causing him to jump backward awkwardly. As soon as Piazza landed, he crumbled in a heap and began grabbing at his lower right abdomen.

It's been a bit gloomy but still a nice drive. We will be passing thru Astoria tomorrow then going to Port Angeles along the Washington coastline.

Road Trip 06 - Day 3

[sign in to see URL] rained most of the day and was foggy along the Oregon Coast. Was only able to view 3 out of [sign in to see URL] out on two and one was under repair. But, the three we did see were...

Umpqua River Lighthouse
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Yaquina Bay Lighthouse - Newport

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Cape Meares Lighthouse
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Highlight of the day: met up with the oldest and her boyfriend and his son at Tillamook Cheese [sign in to see URL] to see her, good cheese to sample

Tomorrow's itinerary: heading thru Astoria, across the Columbia River and up the western coast of Washington to Olympic National Park.
