The Official Clean House Thread.
Duke, I'm counting on you to do what's best for the organization. Fire Bruce Bochy and the puppeteer who hired him.
A six year playoff drought is not Teh Giant Way. Trading top prospects for guys who are far from difference makers is not the Giant Way either. Signing guys who look good crashing into fences but can't distinguish a strike zone isn't either.
This clown called Brian and his little buddy Bochy need to. Be wiped from the organizational map.

I would agree that it's time for a fresh start at the GM position. Not 100% sure about Bochy, although some of his moves do make you shake your head. If the Giants could find someone to bring in, couldn't hurt to lose Bochy also.
I heard somewhere, can't recall where, that LaRussa was a possibility. Anyone else hear that?

I would also cut ties with freddy sanchez, high average/terrible obp, injury prone and on the wrong side of 30. move velez to second if he can hack it there, and use the 8+ million to sign half a holliday/bay. what a bad, bad trade that was.
i bet sabean, bochy, and sanchez all come back.

Re: The Official Clean House Thread.
I think they need to head into a different direction, and Sabes and crew have kinda established that new direction based on the past few drafts. Bobby Evans needs credit here too.
But I'd like to see a new management team in there. Keep Evans, but replace Sabes w/ a Jocketty/ Aldersen type and bring in Steve Decker to manage the big club.
Get rid of Sanchez, I'd take my chances w/ Velez at 2b at $400k, and put that money into a legit cleanup hitter.

I agree about Sanchez Sabean was stupid to trade for damaged goods.

Yea I'm over Benji, he was a great Giant and the heart and soul of the team, but it's time for youth and fresh blood.
I think Decker would excel, apparently most players who've played for him rave about him as a manager.

Amen to that!
Yeah, I think I heard an interview where Duke said one of the things he is going to evaluate Sabean on is the trades he has conducted and obviously the two deals he undertook this year have not turned out to help the club.
I've been a proponent for a long time in getting a new GM. My only concern is that if the Giants let Sabean go, that the scouting system gets gutted. If Sabean goes, the Giants need to try and retain a lot of their scouting system because IMO that is one aspect of the organization that has been working.
Also, I like the idea of Decker as the next manager. Heck I'd be okay with Wotus or hire the former San Jose manager who I forget his name. All three guys would be familiar with the organization and players which would be a good thing.
Just my $.02

The Official Clean House Thread.
I want Whiteside + Posey @ C
Throw a billion dollars at Holiday. I don't care if it's 7/140. Just !@#$ do it. It's not MY money.
Pickup Freddy's option. It's only 8M people. That's Randy Winn's salary right there. If he hits like he always does, it'll look much better than Velez @2B. Yes, I like Velez. But he's no batting champ and allstar, sorry.
Trade Durty + Ishi + Whoeverelsetheywantnotnamedlincecain for Prince Fielder or another monster 1B masher.
Schierholtz in RF, of course.
Resign UUUUUUUribe. Try for 2yr deal, but I'm fine with 3. Plug him in at SS.
!@#$ release Renteria
2yr deal to Penny, if possible
2B Sanchez
RF Schierholtz
3B Pablo
LF Holiday
1B Fielder
SS Uribe
CF Rowand
C Whiteside
Lincecum
Cain
Bumgarner
Zito
Penny/Whoever
