Way !@#$ OT: Circumcision?
Disclaimer: If no one responds to this I'll totally understand! lol
So we find out in 3-4 weeks if the lil chef is going to be a softball player or a baseball player. One thing that's come if it's a boy is what to do about the old PP slicing.
I know a lot people these days are opting not to do it. Some say it's not necessary in this day of sanitation and science. Others say it's just what you do. Some say it doesn't matter, but the kid should look the same as his dad to avoid any weird questions.
On the one hand, I think, "what's the point of putting that poor little baby through such a gnarly procedure for no reason?"
On the other hand, I think, "what if he's the only ant-eater in teh locker room?"
Is it normal for dads to go wonder about this, or do most just make the kid match pops? Anyone got an input or advice on this?

Match pops. Tough to explain otherwise. My opinion.

I'd have let my boys go au-natural if I could do it over. Even though I was clipped. But that's me. Half the world is uncirumcised.

Thanks fellas. I was leaning to the match dad side of it.
I thought the thing about increased STD risk and such was just an old wives tales. I didn't realize it was medically proven. huh. That makes it a much easier decision.

But what will you do when he is two and wants to know why he is bigger than you?

We just had a little boy who is now 4 months old. After doing a ton of research there are no medical benefits to being cut. Sure, if you are planing on your kid to have a lot of unprotected sex with strangers, you might have to worry about the STD thing, but come on. It isn't just 50 percent of the world being uncut, it is 90 percent of the world is uncut and 50 percent in the USA. There are some great advantages to not being cut as well. Much more sensitivity and pleasure during sex, the foreskin allows for extra play when introducing the member at the beginning of a sexual encounter.
The thing that did it for me was there was an interview with a man who was cut later in life, around 18 and he said that he would go back if he could. I am cut, my son is not. It isn't that big a deal. Medically there is no reason for the procedure, it is simply a cosmetic procedure and some would say a proactive procedure to keep from getting infected perhaps. However, if we cut off every part of our body that can get infected, there goes your eyes and ears. I don't know, just didn't make sense to us when we were talking about it.
You will second guess yourselves for months and then come birth even talk about it again. Just do what you believe is most comfortable for the both of you, but remember, once it is gone it aint ever coming back.
