For actual review, skip down to SAUSAGE COMMENTS HERE
Scottsdale hasn't be a food paradise in the past, so I was excited to see a few new items. Garlic Fries for one have found their way to the valley of the sun, but for me sausage is the name of the game and I jumped in headlong.
First off, most of the concessions in the Left Field Corner are repeated in the Right Field Corner, and the Right side being the Home Side I tried my luck in right. First off the service was retarded. I was the third person in line and it took at least 5 minutes to serve the people in front of me. Basically, you had a lady struggling with English as a second language in taking orders, and a clearly hung over young man on the grill. At least 4 of those minutes were spent listening to the people in front of me ask for 2 Italian dogs, listening to the lady ask the man for something, he mumbling something, and she saying that they needed to cook and needed to wait 5 minutes. All this as I am staring at two clearly cooked Italian dogs on the grill. This goes on and on for a while when she says...I have two, do you want them? Finally sweet relief!!! So I place my order, she relays to the cook. He slowly moves to the grill. She relays the next order and the next order, and the cook prepares dogs for the people in line behind me. I politely ask for my dog, which I get after losing at least 1/2 an inning of my life.......

SAUSAGE COMMENTS HERE
A nicely charred dog in a sesame seed sandwich bun. A tacky bread choice, but its fresh soft and moist, so I really can't fault the quality. The skin breaks apart with a soft crunch and smoky flavor of the char, so far so good. The texture is coarsely ground chunks of meat mixture like you would find in a kielbasa plus bits of chewy Jalapeno, which made the overall texture very nice. Pretty good smoky taste to the meat, and a little hint of Jalapeno flavor. The Jalapeno flavor was a little muted for my tastes, but the lingering heat was much more than mild. The heat was enough to cause me to finish my water and go back for more. Now I am an avid eater of hot food, so to the average person this would be quite a kick. Wasn't enough to make me sweat, but was a decent punch. I wasn't happy with the spice as I got more burn than actual flavor. The cheese flavor was almost non existent. If you removed the Jalapeno and Cheeze from the dog it would probably improve, because it would taste better and it wouldn't be leading me down a false trail. One added note, this was the first thing to hit my gut except for coffee which was a bad idea. I had a bit of upset stomach for 15 minutes or so. And then later in the day the nausea hit me again. Hard to say if this happens on a properly conditioned stomach, but then again I have a pretty much cast iron belly, as you can probably tell from all the crap I have shoved down my gullet.

More diatribe here:
The go to food here has always been the Soba Noodles with hot sauce.
Monkey got hers in Right Field today, and she got a grease pool surprise at the bottom of her container. Kinda gross, and leads to my observation that the food and service is probably better in Left Field... The serve a ton more people in Left as most of the lawn seating is right there, and they handle it like pros......

OVERALL RATING 2 Blocked Arteries
-1/2 for the upset tummy
