Has the Mets collapse begun again? / and "Thirst for Worst updates thread" -aka top ten draft picks

2007:
After 145 games-- Mets have a 7 game lead with 17 left to play.
Final result = Choke. No playoff appearance.

2008:
After 145 games-- Mets have a 3 game lead with 17 left to play.
Final result = (TBD)

Game 146 of 2008:
(today)

Mets Ace, Santana, on the mound facing the NotHotlanta Braves.
In the Sixth inning, leading 2-0, the Mets load the bases with no outs --and fail to score a run.
Mets get a grand total of one hit after the sixth.
Santana leaves in the 8th, Atlanta scores three times in the inning.
(2 earned runs credited to Santana)
Mets fail to score again---(Jose Reyes goes 0-5)
Mets lose by a run.

Phillies win their game vs. the Brewers and are now 2 back of the Mets.

Game two of the Mets vs Braves double header coming up in a bit.

Will the Mets choke away the NL East Pennant --again?

Yes, they will. This is what happens when your bullpen has Luis Ayala and Scott Schoenweis as the top 2 pitchers. I know I probably spelled that last name wrong and MarcoPolo will be quick to have a !@#$ fit and blow a load about it. I apologize beforehand

LMAO. This is what happens when a team passes up on Jack Tashner before the trade deadline.

Well instead they got Luis Ayala who at the time had an ERA near 6

The mets gave up Anderson Hernandez a middle infielder hitting .354(ABs 48/17) with 10 RBIs and 7 RUNs

Mets shutout today by the Nationals
Ryan Howard just went yard to give the Phillies a lead a couple of minutes ago

IF PHILLY WINS TONIGHT THEN THEY TAKE 1st PLACE
Howard is only a double away from the cycle

Mail it in: Mets are done

Philly back in 1st with 11 games to go. What's great is one of my good friends is a Mets fan (no its not supraman); two years in a row I'll be able to give him sh1t all winter.
