GAMEBALL and JERK..... 06/06 GIANTS at NATS

06/06 GIANTS at NATS

RAY
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--
Welcome back to the land of the living,…. as Ray came off the trainers table to notch himself and multi hit game and bring his average very close to that psychologically [sign in to see URL] level…….
Rebounding from the worst year of his career, Ray bat has returned to basically what we had expected BEFORE his career year in 2006
Ray was always a solid hitter, with a good on base a little power and a little speed and below average D at 2nd……
Well, as he heads into his late 30's the power and speed are both on the decline, he has lost a step in the field, and his day to day health has become his biggest downfall……..
Even as Ray polishes up his numbers, the Giants will be hard pressed to find a suitor who would give up more than a marginal prospect for him……..
At this point Ray can't be counted on to be an everyday answer at 2nd……..if any team has a use for him it would be as a part time player or a bench bat……and really how much will someone fork over for that?????, his value is about the same as Sweeney or Tucker when they were traded…..if we are lucky…….
Much maligned over his health issues as a Giant, Ray has actually been one of the more consistent offensive forces since he was signed in 2003…….far from some of the other free agent busts the Giants have experienced over the past few years……
And here we are, a point where the Giants are likely better served playing Denker, or Burriss, or Velez or basically anyone else but Ray…..
But when Ray is healthy enough to suit up….Bochy is going to keep running him out there……and hey…..if you were Ray you would be loving every at bat you get at this point……but soon enough his Giants career will be over and Ray won't be getting those AB's anymore…….from the Giants or anyone else…….
So congrats on a good career Ray……although, not an all star or hall of famer….14 years of Major League ball is 14 more years that I could hope to dream of…..

TIP OF THE CAP emoticon
CASTILLO
Consider me the only member of the Castillo fan club…….
I swear the kid is getingr better….his defense is much improved over the beginning of the year, and he's bat has started to warm up a little with 4 homers and a 297 average since April…….still needs to work on his patience and pitch selection and sure this kid might not be the long term answer butg the kid is still only 27… or 6 years younger than Feliz…..and last time I remember 27 year old hitters still have growth potential…….
He may never be a superstar……but lets hope we have a cheap stop gap keeping the corner warm for Gillaspie… emoticon

JERK
A BOONE
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--
Dropped the foul pop up that immediately preceded Castillo's game breaking Homer….
Aaron is barely hanging onto a mediocre career…..
I never liked this !@#$….Maybe it’s the latching onto the Yankee legend crap with just 71 games of service under his belt…..
Aaron Boone…..ain't no Bucky "!@#$" Dent……
But really, I guess the part that chaps my hide is when a Major League Kid doesn’t pan out…..and there are so many …….Aaron had a decent career with a couple of good years in there……but when compared to the storied career of his Father Bob Boone he's a schmuck……..
All the advantages of being brought up and a major league kid, all the resources to play year round with special instructions……perhaps preferential treatment from scouts and player development personnel because of major league bloodlines…….you should be better than your Father,…..like Griffey or Bonds…..not some cheap imitation like Sean Burroughs or Dale Berra……

SMACK OF THE STICK emoticon

ROWAND
GAMER????
Christ……do you really need to throw around that beaten body around in an 8-0 game/;???
I guess so……you know nothing but full speed ahead,……
Hey Bochy, get this bastid out of the game before he Kamikazes himself face first into a brick wall or something……

No mention of Lincecum? Also, Rowand was only trying to save, what was then, a perfect game for lincecum.

I liked the team in the ninth inning. 6 kids on the field with Winn, Castillo and Durham.

Just caught a great quote from Manny Acta in the Post's wrap of yesterday's game. It can be Timmy's gameball substitute.

""Not even the '27 Yankees want to fall behind Lincecum 8-0," Acta said."
