GAMEBALL and JERK..... 05/11 PHILLIES at GIANTS
GAMEBALL and JERK
05/11 PHILLIES at GIANTS
GAMEBALL
HOLM
Well that came out of nowhere…..hell, this guy was a long shot to even sniff a Major League Roster……..
Steve Holm came into the game because Molina was lifted for a pinch runner/ healthy body……hit a line shot on the first pitch into the seats turn a late inning deficient into a lead, as Steve continued to show that he is more than a extra Spring Training catcher….but a honest to god capable backup catcher…….
And HOW CAN YOU NOT root for a guy like this……
No Hype, no expectation….hell hardly any talent…….almost make you think that a guy like you coulda made the majors …….were a few inches taller…………..coulda hit a curveball………….had a halfway decent arm……….had the willpower to keep in shape.;……….sacrificed material wealth by surviving on a Single A Salary……….
TIP OF THE CAP
BULLPEN
The Bullpen has been the brick wall of the Giants this year…..
and it was no different today when Sanchez was chased after 4 1/3……the inherited runner on 3rd scored on a sac fly……and the bullpen slammed the door from there setting the stage for the Giants comeback……
MARICHAL
Was the "Guest of Honor" on ESPN Sunday Baseball Tonight…..and it was very nice to see the Giants discussed on a national level that didn’t involved Bonds or Mays……
OMAR
Welcome back to the old man…..and boy I swear I forgot I even missed him…….
Sure doesn’t have the tools of the some of the kids…..but he makes everything look so smooth and easy…….and just happens to make every play along the way……
MOM'S
What can you say…….
the only person I know that wouldn’t kill me for the Life Insurance money…..unless she was really hard up…..
JERK
CASTILLO
Looks like Giants fans have a new whipping boy at 3rd……….deserved or not…….
Castillo hit into 3 Double plays today, conjuring memories of Giants teams of recent past……
Add his struggles at the plate, to his shaky defense….and the Giants fans are watching the waiver wire and digging through minor league rosters for potential 3rd basemen……
Well tell you what folks……Jose aint that bad……..
Feliz was a badass defensive 3rd basemen….and Jose aint…….welcome to the Post Pedro world……..Jose is average at best…..but he is a HECK of a lot better at third than lets say……Russ Davis…….
Jose has potential with the bat…….he has some pop, and has shown good contact ability……but like Pedro he has a problem with pitch recognition………but UNLIKE Pedro…..Jose is still at an age where players can make progress with patience…….at least until Jose's real Dominican Birth Certificate reveals he is really 32…….
SMACK OF THE STICK
VELEZ
The kid can FLY, the kid has a nice swing, the kid has sick range……but this kid has the Aura of Charlie Brown as he walks around the field…….
Getting picked off, getting called out on every close play, getting rung up on a pitch 6 inches off the plate, getting screwed by hesitation in the field, getting screwed being too aggressive in the field\
I wish this kid would tear into the next Umpire that calls him out……this kid has to learn to get firey quick…….the silent obedient good soldier act is going to get him a ticket out of the league………
HEY OMAR…….help this kid out, will ya?????
DURHAM
!@#$……too hurt too play…. too healthy for the DL…….reduces the Giants pinch hitting options two a Catcher, and Middle Infielder, and a couple OF……that really !@#$ with a team that relies on speed, pitching, and close games……

…
you did a better job of watching the game than me...
--- Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.
