it would be interesting if you got some of teh story correct, but alas you didnt

If you are talking about the number ... so it was #535, and not 512. And it was to pass Jimmy Foxx. Any decent baseball fan can connect the dots. But you Buyiute Mah Crank.

How special can Mick be if he needs room service to set a record, anyway?

Teh Splinter went out legit.

145 yrs ago today Confederate Gen Stonewall Jackson was struck by "friendly fire" after returning from a scouting mission. The Rebel sentry who mistakenly fired the shot was almost inconsolable after the incident.

While resting in the shade on a river bank near a bull pen, Pvt B. Zito moaned "I loved the General. I would have given my left arm for him."

Stonewall was not top-ten in all the tools. He was not a strategist. Tacticially, some judged him too reckless, relying on off-speed flanking maneuvers too much. He was not a "soldier's general" having little regard for relieving troops with reserves, even when the casualty counts got high.

Bernard Bee did not have a favorable opinion of him.

He was not "special" like, say, General Longstreet.

Byco, you left out the part about "crazy as a peach-orchard boar"....
And not good crazy like Nathan Bedford Forrest crazy, or John Bell Hood crazy.

Or that he rode around with one hand in the air. Or ate Lemons.

Now, Nathan Bedford, he was a special kind of special.

Not exactly ... more like he was willing to push his starters without rest for several days.
