GAMEBALL and JERK

GAMEBALL

Kevin didn't light the world on fire, but he has really solidified himself in the rotation, proving that 2007 was no fluke…..
Battling a red hot Dbacks lineup, in Phoenix with the roof open…..Kevin held his own and managed to avoid the big inning…….
So Kevin, here is today's GAMEBALL……. keep dealing……and maybe we can fetch a prospect or two for you come Trade Deadline…….

TIP OF THE CAP emoticon
LEWIS
Mr Opposite Field finally had his first HR of the year….and although it wasn’t exactly in on the hands……he did pull it over the wall to Right Center… which is a good sight to see

BURRISS
Unspectacular at the plate, Emmanuel looked very much a major leaguer in the field…..and although not blessed with a great arm…….I think the scouting reports about arm strength seem greatly exaggerated……

JERK
DBACKS
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--
!@#$ Dbacks…..like the Marlins of the desert mortgaged themselves for a title, blew the damn thing up and collected prospects and high draft picks left and right……
Yup the good old cycle of baseball life on fast forward……..
But unlike the Marlins, the Dbacks have that new ballpark and aren't afraid to spend some cash……combine that with some very shrewd moves and you got a young team that is JUST STARTING to develop……..
Yes sir, this team looks to be a juggernaut of the NL West for the foreseeable future……
Young, Drew, Jackson, Reynolds, Upton, Webb, Haren, Pena….not to mention Scherzer who is tearing up AAA……Hell they can even let O-Dog go after the year and plug in Bonifacio and his mile wide range…..
Yes it is a perfect time for the Giants to be rebuilding, because even a stacked team would have a hard time competing with these JERKS…..

SMACK OF THE STICK emoticon
VELEZ
The electric second baseman is getting an extended chance to earn the 2nd base job long term…..but somehow it seems he has caught Rajai Davis disease looking totally lost at the plate……better get it together quick kid, cause the Giants have no shortage of middle infielders right on your heals…..

I think the kid running amok behind home plate during every pitch (sit down kid!) would have been a good choice for jerk, I found him and the guy in the where's Waldo outfit to the left (on the TV) of him to be quite distracting. Why have the fans that low?

Disclaimer: I retract my statement and will feel like a douchebag if the kid is actually mentally challenged and was not just cracked out on soda.

Bochy should be the jerk, or at least get a smack, for hitting Rowand behind Molina. If they were switched, there's a good chance that the Giants would've had one more run, maybe more.

I've always thought Bengie should not be in the cleanup spot. Not so much because he doesn't have the power you'd typically get from the 4 hole, but because of his lack of speed. He's killed this team a few times on the basepaths. I can run faster than him and I am a gimp who uses two crutches to walk lol.

I don't know how Bochy and Sabean can't see this, it's so obviously hurting the team where our only chance of success is speed and the ability to stretch singles into doubles and doubles into triples not the other way around with Molina not only turns doubles into singles and triples into singles for himself he does it for the two batters batting behind him.

Bochy at least deserves two smacks of the sticks every time Molina is ahead of Rowand and Bowker in the lineup.

I do think he was trying to distract the pitcher.

I do too but he was doing it while both the Giants and the D'Backs pitchers were on the mound.
No one seemed to try to stop the kid or get him to sit down. Owner's kid or special [sign in to see URL] both?

Molina is a plodder no doubt about it, and ideally he would be hitting 7th......
But in this lineup #4 is the only spot that makes sense.

Think about this, the on base percentage for the Giants 1 2 and 3 hitters is probably somewhere between .[sign in to see URL]
Now I ain't Bill James, but I bet that if you plotted out the games the hitter leading off the 2nd inning is most likely the #5 hitter......

We can sit here and plan out our lineup as if we have 1 perfect inning... but the name of the game is giving yourself the best [sign in to see URL] as far as I can tell Molina #4 and Rowand #5 is probably the best we can do until we get a real cleanup hitter.....
