GAMEBALL and JERK..... 03/31/08 Opening Day\

GAMEBALL and JERK
OPENING DAY 03/31/08 GIANTS at DODGERS
GAMEBALL

BOCOCK

Replacing Lincecum as the most doe eyed looking kid on the team, Bocock provided best performance on an opening day devoid of any real Giants Highlights…….
In February, he was a long shot to start higher than Double A, but seizing the opportunity presented by Omar's injury, Brian MADE the opening day roster as the starting shortstop…..
In a day barren of Giants offense, Bocock reached base twice by walk…..and then on a ball hit by Andruw Jones, ranged deep into the and unleashed a rifle shot to nail Jones at first…….
At that’s a play, I don't think ANY Giants shortstop in memory could have made based on arm strength alone……
So Brian, keep scrapping and maybe you might just find yourself in the bigs for good…..but at the very least you get today's GAMEBALL

TIP OF THE CAP emoticon
ROWAND
A glimmer of offense on a team that was overmatched at the plate……
Rowand was comfortable in the box as he banged out 2 of the Giants 5 hits

VELEZ, LEWIS, DAVIS, THREETS, VALDEZ, ORTMEIER
Welcome to opening day….now get to work or your fired…..

STEVE HOLM
OK, where the !@#$ did this one come from???
I bet he thought the highlight of his career would be playing with the big leaguers in spring training…..
Well kid, welcome to the 2008 Giants…..where even Steve Holm gets a shot

JERK

We sit here on our couches and pretend to know more than professionals like Brian Sabean and Peter Magowan……
But really, come on…. these guys live and breathe baseball…. have access to information well beyond out wildest dreams….. they must know what they are doing right????
(Cough Cough) yeah right……..
How the !@#$ could they have blown this one this badly…..
$126 million is an awful lot of cash to spend on pitcher who THEY MUST HAVE KNOWN had diminished stuff……
Hell All we had to do was look at the stats and or the radar gun……
Well, !@#$…. its opening day… and maybe we give Zito the benefit of the doubt,….
but already 1 year into that ridiculous contract… he better start showing us something……or we might just to write off the whole lol as JERKS

SMACK OF THE STICK emoticon
ROWAND
OK, I get it now… Gamer, all out all season…
That must mean play baseball without any brains……
twice Rowand aired out his arm and missed the cutoff man, as if he was a 13 year old boy trying to impress some underage girls in the stands……
Good job of showing the kids "how the game should be played"

RAY
Jesus !@#$…. Hey RAY…. you’re the VET out there…….you sure looked like a rook dropping that easy pop up allowing a run to score…….

COMCAST
And you thought FSN COMMERCIALS were BAD

No smack of the stick for Barry Z?

Rather ironic and very annoying that Comcast kept repeatedly showing the same ad of an actual Gamer (Nuschler)--- in between live game footage that continually reminded us of what Gamers DON'T look like.

(Bo-cawk excluded-- he played very well, other than his blunder on the base path)

And I agree-- no way Omar would have gotten Jones.

Bocock would have been my gameball until he got picked off!!

My gameball goes to Taschner/Eugenio/Wilson/ Billy Hayes/Correia/Threets who all threw me a ball during B.P.

JERK of the game - Whichever dodger fan it was that ripped the Giants sticker off my car... emoticon

Well, I'm sure that Duhyer fan needed a blanket to keep warm last night. That bumper sticker probably kept him from dying of exposure.

One other highlight of Bocock's game was he almost injured Roberts with the collision in the outfield- THAT would have helped us immensely!

Maybe Lewis or Davis is paying him off. That would have been perfect to get Roberts off the field.
