Best Pre-Game, Post-Game Spots to grab a brew ...

Since I sit in the bleachers, it's easier to walk-in from 2nd Street. Therefore, my usual pitstop is a drink(s) at 21st Amendment Brewery. The beers are great there. Every once in awhile I'll stop by MoMo's but it's too crowded (before and after games) and the drinks cost about the same as in the ballpark!

After the games, time permitting, I'll have one at 21st Amendment as well. Or, on the way back to my hotel (depends where I stay), I'll usually stop at the House of Shields on New Montgomery or the Occidental Cigar Club on Pine.

It is a fantastic place but the last time I was there I was underwhelmed. Just about every thing on the entire great board was either an IPA, a double IPA or some weirdo stout. No ambers, no pales, no artisan abbeys. Nothing but hop monsters and bitter blacks. They do some themed events every now and then. I believe their Barleywine festival just passed. And there is a straight up kick-ass sausage shop next door.

But the Toronado it's a good ways from the yard. It's on Haight (in the Lower Haight)

If you wanted to make trip from the ballpark, take the N (or that new S?) from the park to the Castro at Church, then jump on the 22 Filmore and get off at Haight. Not that bad of trip on the Muni system.

The Aub Zam Zam on Haight. Get there about an hour before the game, leave about six hours after first pitch, mumbling "Fuggit." Haven't been since Bruno Mushei died. Maybe it's gone too.

Was he the guy who would flip out and swear at you if you ordered a drink he didn't like to make or felt wasn't suitable for a man?

Yeah, that's the guy. You'd get the toss if you called him Bartender too. Or even if you were too loud... I got tossed my first time there but he let me slide the next night and I made it a regular in-city stop.
