Re: 2008 Amateur June Draft

Danny could be moved to 3B if need be, but with the hope of Angel Villanova developing at 3B, that might not be necessary.

The top prospect for the Rays, Evan Longoria, will most likely start at 3B for them this year. When he played at Long Beach State, he was origninally a SS from the JC ranks, but guess who was playing SS for LBSU at the time? Troy Tulowitzki. So he transitioned to 3B, and filled in at SS when Tulo went down with an injury.

I am not endorsing Danny Espinosa. I am merely pointing out that Villalona has already been moved to 1B.

Would it be assanine to expect to see Villalona up here possibly by the time he is 19? Midway through the 09 season perhaps?

Egan, remember that Villalona is still only 17 years old. Dude won't be 18 until August. Even if he arrives at any time during the 2010 season, it's a bonus. It's just my opinion, but as fans, we should be thrilled if he makes an appearance in September of 2010 with a legit shot to be the man in 2011.

Heyward or Villalona. Who makes it first? The race is on.

But he only has 2 RBI. He sounds more like a number 2 hitter.

So what you're saying is that he'll fit in perfectly with the current Giants crop of hitters.

why not just trade the pick, with matt cain, for janssen and rolen? that seems like a sabean type deal.

If he has only 2 RBIs how can he have 3 walk off hits?
