Mando finds a home!!

Blue Jays Sign Armando Benitez
According to the Toronto Star, the Blue Jays have signed reliever Armando Benitez to a minor league deal. He's apparently not in the closer picture (which makes sense, with B.J. Ryan and Jeremy Accardo good to go).

Benitez, 35, struck out 57 in 50.1 innings last year with the Giants and Marlins. The problem was too many hits, home runs, and walks. That resulted in an ERA of [sign in to see URL]. Benitez's control has always been poor; he's succeeded by being tough to hit. The strong Toronto defense could help in that regard.

Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

And Toronto had such a strong pen last year.

So goes that trend for this year.

Just sayin'

Why is that? Can they leap 30 feet straight up-- at the wall?

Re: Mando finds a home!!

strange the jays would even offer mando a locker. a friend i work with, her brother was pitching on the jays 40 man last year, had a couple apprearances, and finished the year sitting out with injury. we all went to a pads game at the end of the year when he was working out at sdsu. he said the jays were taking him off the 40 man because they were already chalked full of relievers in their system. then this spring he ends back in jays camp as they picked up his free agent option. then he is dfa'd, and now they invite mando. makes no sense, they have plenty of pen guys.

Unless, if Mando pitches well that might make one of the Jays other bullpen arms expendable. Add someone like Janssen along with Rios and maybe that would be enough for Sabean to re-think trading Lincecum to them?

Re: Mando finds a home!!

okay thrill, here is some of one i was working on. keep in mind that it's funnier when i tell it, but still not that funny.

*scene: thehed w/ gf down in ocean beach farmer's market (the dirtiest beach town in sd chalked full of hippie pan handlers, bikers, homeless, college girls, and people like thehed)*

thehed: where does hummus come from? this stuff is pretty good. medditeranian? that whole are? greece?
hippie: yea man, when you buy that stuff you support terrorism. you might be helping "them" finance a way to blow up o.b. then where could i panhandle? the cops kick us out of p.b. man, that would suck if they blew up o.b. remember when starbucks cam to o.b. man?
thehed: yes, and all you dirtbags were protesting.
hippie: yea man, starbucks totally ruined it, it's like now the best place to panhandle in front of. buying hummus is like supporting starbucks, and the terrorists, they are the same people man, they came to ruin o.b.
thehed: dude, starbucks didn't ruin o.b., it's the same but they have a starbucks. what the hell have you been smoking.
hippie: hey man, can i have some hummus, i'm hungry.

people sparring for change...
thehed: old homeless vietnam vet amputees that have also lost their mind are okay to give money to, but be sure they reall are cripple and insane. as for hippie dirtbag, there really is no excuse for them to be begging, other than, "this pot made me lazy man. the guitar has a hold of me." with all that time on their hands, one would think that they would at least be good at playing guitar?
