Re: Teh Gamers

When I think gamer I think Len Dykstra and Joe Carter. I don't know why.
--------
because they were good players who stepped up to perform above normal levels to help the team win in clutch situations. that is what a "gamer" is. not just some schlep who is trying really hard.

I heard a "gamer" commercial spot today and it was ridiculous. I've always thought the marketing department for the Giants has been horrible, but this is just downright insulting.

The voice work was killing me, though, with some gritty, husky voice describing what a "gamer" was, and how you maybe--oh, just maybe!--you might be a gamer, yourself. There was another line at the end of it that really annoyed me, but I can't remember what that was.

Oh, I remember now.

He was saying something like "just imagine 40,000 fans screaming as one for nine guys on the field who come together and turn into *one!*"

I laughed at the radio and asked out loud "What, the Giants signed Voltron?"
