Spring Training

A lot of people think it doesn't matter. I agree, yet I also disagree. Yes, when all is said and done the stats don't count in the books... However, so far this spring, quite a few of the Giants pitchers can't seem to find the strike zone on a regular basis. That has to be at least a little worrisome doesn't it? Starting pitching is supposed to be the strength of this club. I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now since it is still early, but I am a bit worried. Also Bochy preached early on about this team and fundamentals, well so far it isn't working cause they haven't played good situational baseball at all. There have been occasions where they don't get the runner over with less than two outs. We cannot afford that this year, considering the margin of error is slim to none. Am I making too much of this? Am I the only one?

its too early to worry about the starting pitching, if they keep sucking in week 5 then its something to worry about.

good situational hitting comes from good situational hitters, giants dont have those

Fair enough Fatal. When you say it's too early to worry about the pitchers, are you even talking about our glorified 126 mil BP pitcher?

soft tossers take longer to get going in spring, im not going to worry about zito or lowry until the last week of spring. the bullpen is a bigger problem and guys like kline need to be released. the hitting is what it is, i just rather see the youngsters play. i just dont see any point in watching roberts and co start on a crap team

AMEN to that... although I have as much faith in Zito as this point as I used to Trevor Wilson
