My thoughts on ST so far
The good: Velez- I love this guys speed and he is swinging a hot bat right now. His D is a little suspect, but hopefully he can work through it. If he is not on the roster come opening day I will be pissed
Denker- Who is this guy? He can rake!
Valdez- dude is dealing
Davis D-- Rajai is a walking defensive highlight reel
Brian Wilson--- Looked pretty solid so far
The bad:
Zito- I don't care if this is just ST, I have as muc faith in him as I used to Trevor Wilson. Far too inconsistent. The WORST signing in Giants history. Maybe that's too harsh but hey that's how I see it. A guy getting paid that much jack should be far better than this guy has been. Hopefully he will turn it around, but what I have seen so faR in the year plus that he has been here, I just don't know
Lowry- I hope he is ok injury wise
These are just a few things that have caught my eye.

Lowry will be out until mid-April, if my spidey-sense is working correctly. The guy -cannot- stay healthy. I think 2005 was an aborration.
I totally agree about Denker, and actually put him ahead of Velez because of the D issue. However I really don't think there's a spot on the starting lineup for either of them. Maaaaybe the bench for Velez.
I'd add Franny to "teh bad". He's really looking human out there. You could writeoff the defensive miscues because of playing SS, but he's been pathetic at the plate. (minus the HBP =D)
I don't think Denker will be starting for us. He hasn't played much above A ball, but Velez, like I said, I know he is suspect with the glove, but I'd love to see him get a shot somewhere..... be it second or third base. The guy has some potential. Lowry. I love the guy, but you are right he always seems to get nicked up.
Franny- I'll give him a bit of a pass for his D at shortstop, but I am concerned about his bat a little. It is early though. Stick with him for a while though. May maybe June... if he is struggling then maybe you look somewhere else. I would never wish injury on anybody but I am glad that the vets have been banged up because it forces the Giants to play the kids.
