Rex Facking Grossman has better numbers than Smith. Check them. I sh*t you not.

Smith makes Trent Dilfer circa 2000 look like Payton Manning.

Here's a simple test.

Does he have a strong arm?
Does he have an accurate arm?
Does he lead his team well?
Does he have good pocket presence?
Does he make good decisions?
Does he avoid fumbling the ball?
Does he make those around him better?
Does he throw a "catchable" ball?
Does he have "that certain something"?
Does he read coverages well?
Does he excel in the 4th quarter?
Does he win games?
Do you trust him with the game on the line?

I think you'll find the answer to every question is no.

The fact is, Alex smith only possesses three admirable qualities: He is relatively athletic, he is relatively booksmart, and he is relatively young. That's it. He has potential. Potential doesn't win games. Potential doesn't warrant extending contracts because he's "only" been in the league for 3 years.

I don't mean to trash the guy, but why would the yorks reup him NOW? Did they think there'd be a bidding war for his services after this season?? Did they not want to hurt his feelings??

so i guess antonio bryant luckily averaged 20 yards a catch with a guy with weak non accurate arm. i hear they might actually bring him back which would be a step in the right direction. its hard to compare grossman considering he was surrounded by a super bowl talent team, not crap team alex has been so far. what happened to grossman this year? well they lost talent, thats what happened

I agree with you... he has potential. But that's all. I mean, really... look at the numbers dude. He's never done anything, he's coming off a horrific season with injuries and whining to the media... and they extend him? I thought extensions were a reward for doing something right. Why extend him now, especially when they just said he was going to have to finally compete for his job?

Actually, neatness and order appeals to my German heritage so why not post where it belongs? It's not too much to ask. Then again, I hate it when people park boats and RV's in their [sign in to see URL] it up.

he should step up and whine after nolan threw him under the bus, he goes out there with torn tendons in his shoulder and gets his butt whipped. if the didnt say anything that would be a bigger indication of softness. he put nolan in his place, i respect him for that.

Listen up Junior (you couldn't be over 14 with that childish "neener neener two wrongs make a right" type of reply)

I was fairly polite to you so far, so don't get all mouthy on me.
Fact is, it's not the post content we were advising you about, it was a polite request and a decent effort to show you where the Niner threads are kept.

If you are so facking sensitive that you can't handle some light advice, then you should shut off that hasbro cribtop computer you are mouth breathing all over and get off the facking internet until your skin thickens up.

Got it?

Good.

The nolan ineptness is all coming back now...

but Smith still sucks, you can't deny that. If he does great and throws even 20 TDs this year, i'll gladly make you a nice plate of eggs benedict. =D

Alex Smith has a strong and accurate arm, he also makes the right reads, he tends to be hesitant, he has poor foot work, which Martz should correct.

If you look at Smith non objectively, you realize that in 2005 he had very little talent Lloyd at WR and Battle a recent QB conversion, Barlow at RB and very poor Offensive Line. In 2006 he improved the most of any QB in NFL History from one year to the next with an improved Line and a running game. 2007 when the 49ers were put in a bad situation Offensive Coordinator wise who didn't understand that the short route got you first downs, they didn't realize this until December. Still the 49ers averaged more points per game in Alex Smiths first 3 games (not counting the games he was injured in) then any 3 games played by any other 49er QB.

If you think that Smith isn't going to be the starter next season your delusional.

Nine you [sign in to see URL] wouldn't take the time of day to proof-read anything that has to do with you other than typing 100 Words Per Minute and making it as clear as I can without looking and clicking "quick reply" while watching LOST. You as a human being are worthless to me and you SIR are one of those nerds titled with the word "[D]ick"....Who says if my calculations are correct you my friend are retarded for posting an OT topic in the general board.

Shut the hell up and stop being a !@#$ and grow a pair of nuts!
