Crede deal already in the making??
Just speculation from Chicago Sun Times -
Joe Crede: The whispers around the organization still seem to point to the idea that if the third baseman shows up to camp and the back looks strong he will be gone by the middle of Cactus League play. The top suitor remains San Francisco, who may even have a deal in place with the Sox, contingent on the back recovery. The big reason why? Aaron Rowand. While talking to Williams in his first free-agent discussion with the club this offseason, the second question out of Rowand’s mouth – right after “That’s all the years can you give me?’’ – was about the future of his good friend Crede. Don’t think for a second that Rowand isn’t in the ear of Giants’ brass, campaigning for Crede to come West and be locked up to a contract extension.

Crede is a white pedro Feliz. Except we lose lowry or Sanchez on this one.

I would rather see the Giants sign McPherson or Ensberg or stick with Frandsen over trading Lowry or Sanchez for Crede.
Now if the Sox want Roberts and/or Kline, then by all means, let's make a deal. But to me Lowry (and Sanchez) have much more value than Crede. Maybe I'm biased but Lowry should be worth one or more good young prospects and not a worn down, DL prone, third baseman.
My last question is, who's running the show in San Francisco? Sabean or the Giants new $60 million dollar man?
Just sayin'

Re: Crede deal already in the making??
This is exactly why I wanted the Giants to sign Feliz...so they WOULD NOT trade good young pitching for a similar player.
Feliz for $5M
Crede for Sanchez/Lowry & $5M
I'll take the former.
Crede for Roberts and/or Kline...OR Durham (which it won't be)...otherwise...we shoulda signed Feliz.

Re: Crede deal already in the making??
I think its inevitable that if Crede is healthy, the trade will happen.
I'm sure the front office feels Crede will bring in $$

I don't think Lowry will be dealt for Crede. Sanchez, Correia, or Hennessey on the other hand are very likely candidates to go.

Re: Crede deal already in the making??
True...and they are all players I would rather keep than send off...just for the right to have Crede for 1 year at $5M.
If Sabes does this...notch it up as one more idiotic move by our GM.
Is Crede (1 year) minus named pitcher (under team control for years) worth more than Feliz? Not even close.

Trading young pitching for Pedro Feliz - oops, I mean Crede - would be pure insanity. I agree that if they take Roberts in trade, I'd be all for it (but I don't see why they would - Quentin and Owens aren't that good, but they are *really* cheap).
--- Do not suggest trading for somebody for only two years (unless the Giants dump a crappy contract)

Re: Crede deal already in the making??
I'll throw in Fred Lewis.
So they can have Roberts OR Lewis OR Durham.
If it helps, they can have Kline with any or all of the above 3.

Re: Crede deal already in the making??
Some of the comments at the end of the article/blog....quite comical. At least we know we aren't the only ones who think a Lowry for Crede is completely one sided.
