Giants GM Brian Sabean said it's becoming increasingly unlikely that he'll add a first baseman prior to the start of spring training.
The Giants have been rumored to be after Tony Clark, but Sabean doesn't seem interested in going there. "I don't know that we could marginally improve ourselves with anybody out there," he said. If the Giants don't add a first baseman, Dan Ortmeier would be the favorite to start at the position over Rich Aurilia. They'd have to be projected to have the worst first base production in the majors.

yes!! Thats good news. We dont really need that old man. Ort can play that [sign in to see URL], Tony isnt an offensive upgrade either

666 Strikes me as your typical internet tough. Who else would get pissed and go off on a rant when someone puts a hypothetical idea up.

Boy, you are really sensitive. Do you HAVE to think it was a negative comment, rather than an (attempt) at a simple funniness? (Granted, re-reading, it doesn't sound as funny as I thought it did at midnight.)

Definition : "using lots of pictures; especially, funny pictures found on the internet."

Actually, let me re-phrase that : it turns out it's not very funny. I *really* didn't mean it as an attack, I thought it was funny.

I apologize, since you took it as a pot shot (even though that wasn't my intention).

And now that I look at it in the cold light of day (instead of midnight), if it's not funny, I guess you'd have to take it as a pot shot.

I really thought it was funny at the time (a "wink" at the fact that you like posting funny pictures). Sorry dude.

Pictures yes, but not endless repetitious animated .gifs/ MB icons.
That's a Fug trait, not a NineBuck trait.

Nothing wrong with pictures, unless you are a "Dial up Dinosaur", which, ever since you informed me that you were-- led me to have the courtesy to not post huge files.

In my opinion, it's one of the nice features of this board that we don't have to always just read text as pics enhance posts and sometimes pictures definitely say more than words.

Anyway, I'm over it and thanks for recognizing that you came off like a hater twice in row now with critical or attacking posts out of the blue directed at me. Since I rarely post here anymore, and haven't engaged you in any form of argument or even mild debate, it struck me as unnecessary and lame.

But, It's been a long off season and we are all a little tense about the state of our beloved team, The Mitchell report, the weather [sign in to see URL] no worries.
Let's just move on and let's keep this board as friendly as possible.

It's a welcome sanctuary from the MLB !@#$ boards.
That much I think we all agree on.

PS as a peace offering, I found a babe for ya.

It's the Coppertone girl all grown up <wink>
