Good interview. He is very optimistic. Here are things that stood out to me:

He says the Giants won't be a lame punch n judy team. They may not be a HR team but they have a lot of people that can hit 40-50 doubles

He is training hard with a pro training center in AZ with other young ball players and the college football players preparing for the combine

Bonds was cool to him and tossed him batting practice on multiple occasions to help him out of slumps

Who are these "40-50 doubles hitters" and why weren't they hitting doubles last season? The Giants had the second fewest two-baggers in baseball last season. Adding Rowand is only going to change things so much. And before someone says "ATT turns alot of doubles in to triples" they Giants were only 5 triples above NL average, at best it cost them 10 doubles and 2 spaces on the list.

Ralph and Tom called Frandsen on the doubles. He listed the following as "potential" doubles hitters

Rowland
Winn
Frandsen
Ortmeier ("with all that speed")
Schierholtz

Re: …

Did Ralph and Tom remind him that they would have to get 500 ABs if they want to hit 45 2Bs?

Poor kids.
