Selig has no shame
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3201154
unfacking believable. The spineless weasel has been one of the worst leaders imaginable and he gets an extension. What a joke baseball has become

Re: Selig has no shame
I really used to dispise this used car salesman, but as I watched the Congressional Hearings I kept thinking how much the sport has improved financially, and popularity wise...
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't like the guy; i think he's a worm, but i have to give him some credit. The sport has been through a lot the past decade or so since he's been around. The Pete Rose thing (which was Giamatti's but Selig had to answer to it), competing with the popularity of the NFL, the steroids stuff, the strike of 94.
I'll really gain some respect for him if he punishes Sabean/Magowan and Co., but that won't happen; his balls arent THAT big.

Re: Selig has no shame
Big man, pig man, ha ha charade you are.
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha charade you are.
And when your hand is on your heart,
You're nearly a good laugh,
Almost a joker,
With your head down in the pig bin,
Saying "Keep on digging."
Pig stain on your fat chin.
What do you hope to find.
When you're down in the pig mine.
You're nearly a laugh,
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.

My only consolation is that when Bud finally departs his sorry legacy of the strike, a canceled post season and World Series, along with his shameless bidding on the part of the owner’s avarice, their duplicity and ultimately their willful blindness to scandal will follow him through history.
His selection and extension by the owners is perfectly understandable, as the owners made it clear to baseball fans when they discharged Fay Vincent that they had no intention of having someone who would stand up and protect the best interests of baseball in the commissioner’s role. Instead they placed one of their own in the position, a perfect shill to put forward their agenda of greed and profit at any cost.
No sooner than the owners were found to be guilty of collusion and forced to pay $ 280 million to the players as a result, Selig stood by as the owners attempted to impose a salary cap on the players. When the players balked, the cost ended up being almost half of a season, the playoffs and a World Series, and part of another for their failed attempt to impose their will on the players. It was a truly sickening display that will forever define Bud in my mind.
So congratulations to Bud and the owners on their six billion dollar year in 2007, and their successful attempts to fleece us of every nickel possible. Hell they even tried to go after fantasy baseball recently, as their greed knows no bounds.
And the $ 15 million was Bud’s take in 2005, Bonds only knows what he is making now:
