HOF voting

Does anybody besides me have a problem with the current voting system of having writers vote guys in? Most of these guys are biased as hell. Granted I didn't see Jim Rice's full career, but the 4-5 years I did see, he was definetly HOF worthy. I wish they'd overhaul the voting process and take the power of the writers in deciding who gets in. I think the living HOF members should vote to decide who gets in.

There will be the same problems with the existing HOFers. My problem is that it took a guy like gossage nine times to get elected.

Did the writers suddenly discover something he did on the field that was somehow not known prior to his retirement?

[sign in to see URL] a weak class it just seemed like Gossage was the best available. THat is a sh*tty way to vote guys in.

Just look at Gary Carter's [sign in to see URL] hit .260 but was well liked by the media and he was voted in. Rice's stats are much better than Carter's. I would go as far as saying that in Rice's day- he was one of the most feared RH batters.

The most impressive stat about G. Carter was his 11 All-Star [sign in to see URL] that, as we all know, is a popularity contest. He was well liked by the media and [sign in to see URL] they postered his face [sign in to see URL] the fans liked him so they voted for him.

Complete [sign in to see URL] is getting to be more and more of a joke each year.

I agree that there would be the same problems if HOF were allowed to vote... it just drives me nuts that writers get to decide who is Hall Worthy and who isn't
