This Clemens Press Conference is Interesting...

Taped his convo with McNamee.

I want his lawyer to shut up and play the tape.

Well this Mcnamee guy sounds like a piece of work.

Not that I'm defending Rocket but his ex-trainer sounds like a wack job.

Just sayin'

This conversation is bizarre to say the least. Really nothing is being said. Doesn't say anything about the Rocket not taking Steroids. Really it might just put huge holes in the Mitchell investigation. "tell me what you want me to do." -BM "I need SOMEONE to tell the truth." - RC

Why not, "I need YOU to tell the truth."

The struggle is McNamee was involved in steroids stuff and Roger wasn't? Roger says "I didn't do it." McNamee "ok"

Not, "I know" or "no you didn't"

This is a strange strange thing.

Lots of dancing [sign in to see URL] ended answers, really thought BM was tryhing to lead & bait him, no doubt his lawyers were taping it, and trying to get something on him.

The best was after the tape when Roger was answering questions, they couldn't bleep out the swearing fast [sign in to see URL] was awesome.

It could be really interesting for the credibility fo the Mitchel Report if this McNamee goes in front of Congress and says that he lied to the Mitchel Commission. Wouldn't that throw a big wrench into everything.

Just sayin'

Re: This Clemens Press Conference is Interesting...

i just listened to the taped call. My gut reaction is that it was staged. Think about it; it makes sense, and both parties gain from it. BM is paid off by Clemens to help save his kids life, and Roger comes out of the call looking more and more like an innocent bystander. BM was pressured by Mitchell about [sign in to see URL] they're working together to clear his name and save the kids life.

I found it interesting that RC's lastest public statement is, "I didn't supply BM with any steroids to inject."

That's doubletalk.

The whole thing was [sign in to see URL] killed me was whenever BM said "what do you want me to do" a billion times, Roger never said "tell the truth, you lied to them, I never did any PE's". The whole call was much to do about nothing.

Roger said "I didn't use them" and BM never said anything confirming or denying that.

It does sound a little staged. Clemens indirectly trying to help BM's kid and friend and clear himself and the perfect cover is the defemation lawsuit. If it is dropped quickly we will know.

As with what many people said about Barry is how do you not know what exactly is going into your body and why is a trainer as opposed to a DOCTOR or NURSE administering shots to you.

All sounds fishy to me. I believed Clemens innocence more before all this craziness. Now it looks like he is trying too hard.

Clemens knew the call was being recorded; McNamee didn't. I don't think that either of these guys gained any credibility from the conversation. McNamee sounded like his life has become a nightmare and he was at the end of his rope. He sounded sad and desperate. I think it makes Clemens look like a weasel.

I don't know why Clemens did not, after McNamee said for the tenth time, "Tell me what you want me to do," say something like, "You know I never took what you told Mitchell I did, just tell the truth. Say what really happened."

"Can I drink water? Is that okay or not?"

Barry has to love this.
