"The Pen"
I think that both of you meant "affect" (or affected).

But Taschner didn't give up that many hits this year. 7.8H/9, which on it's own isn't that bad. It's not shutdown reliever good, but it's solid. It was better than everyone on the pitching staff except Lincecum and Wilson.

This wouldn't happen because the Giants will be a bad team next year. The bullpen will get a lot of use.

"The Pen"
Well, they could use him as the lefty specialist out of the pen, or bring him in to start an inning when several lefties are due in the inning. It's possible - I didn't mean "never pitch", I meant "use him sparingly".

You mean actually keep a guy in the MLB bullpen without over working him or moving him back and forth to Fresno? I think Dirty Sanchez would find that to be highly unfair. Part of being a young pitcher on the Giants is accumulating frequent flyer miles and working 4-6 games in a row and only being benched when you lose your mojo.

I would rather see Sanchez starting in Fresno, than relieving in SF next year.

Same for the past two years. I can't believe he started on the SF roster out of ST this year.
