I am guessing Rowand is backloaded, so I took at stab at some numbers....
Of course its probably more like 5-6-12-18-19

From what I have seen he gets an $8 mil signing bonus, $4 mil each of the two first years. Then his salary is $8 mil the first 2 years and $12 mil for the next 3 years.

that is about the worst way to spend $88mm. sabean is a !@#$ retard. 12mm to rowand when he will be less of a player? wtf is that? give him 8mm the first couple years..nobody will want that contract when you try to dump him in 3 years.

where is the hammer? where were the plans to replace the hammer? they should have 2 hammers to go with the current team, and they have zero, plus no hopes of quisition.

great planning brian, you !@#$ douchebag.

Actually it's basically 12 mil each year. The first two seasons hav signing bonus payouts and salary whole the backend is only salary without SB but it's still 12 mil each season.

Travis Ishikawa is NOT a competent first baseman.

Re: Payroll Update 12/17/07

either way, these are some poorly structured contracts across the board. why doesn't the player's union hire seabean to fund their retirment pentions...that's what he's been doing for barry, and his other collection of old guys worth jack !@#$ when he signed them, but he gave them the back end money anyway. 6.5 for dave roberts? 4.5 for rich aurilia?

unless i'm getting the numbers wrong that 11mm for 2 guys that are worse than rookies making 400k. roberts deal is even more puzzling after the rowand deal. the backup cf is making 6 million dollars? !@#$ retarded. plus roberts had showed nothing in sd previously to lead anyone to believe he had anything left. davis and lewis at this point are probably both better than he is.

oyutside zito, roberts, and aurilia, this team would have the pitching, and the money to get a hammer...or two decent starters.
