Re: Sabean's actions noted in the Mitchell report.

Classic Sabes.

Ol' Bri-Bri did his three most consistently consistent actions:

1. Kicked the tires.
He told Conte to take care of a problem in the clubhouse by himself. Sabes is now spending $186 million over 7 years to fix the clubhouse (Zito + Row Row)

2. Did his due diligence.
He called the DEA.

3. Admired from afar.
Denied the BALCO raids would hurt the team.

"At duh en' uv duh day,
Wut can I say?
Crime doesn't pay,
So I called duh DEA.

But they said go away,
My fears I could not relay.
So in diss legal shade of grey,
I couldn't help but let Barry play.

Sue me if you must,
Kick me when I'm down.
Zito, Aurilia, Roberts, Tucker, Zito, Pierzynski, Morris, and Beniteze may have all been a bust,
But you should know your insults won't turn my blank smile into a frown."

 emoticon

nice work, E6D.

Please, oh please, let the Chronicle make a huge deal about this Sabean thing. I don't usually like the local paper to pressure organizations to make moves (like the media in LA basically forcing Depo out), but if they could force Magowan into firing Sabean, I will be forever grateful.

We've got a new mission for you!

Yes, E6D, he really said that
[url=[sign in to see URL]

I couldn't believe it. That quote alone crushed all remaining hope I had in Teh Rebuilding.

I'm sure Sabean and his legion of apologists will say that he simply misspoke, but that's some f-ucking inexcusable dogma spewing from the douchey mouth of a losing GM. Hate that guy.

I hate him with the intensity of a thousand suns. You know those 1/20/09 bumper stickers? We should make Black and Orange 10/01/09 ones to hand out at fanfest.

I just find it inexcusable that Brian made Stan Conte into the fall guy when Sabean himself was afraid and/or unwilling to confront Bonds about Anderson and the use of steroids. After reading the report, I feel really, really bad for Stan Conte.

I think the report shows Sabean in a very, very poor light. To me a GM is supposed to run the entire organization, to be "the" boss and for Sabean to "pass the buck" like he did, really doesn't say much about his character. That alone makes me say that it would be warranted for PMG and Co. to let Sabean go.

I think this is a really sad day for the Giants organization.

Just sayin'

Those were my exact thoughts. I'll bet Stan Conte couldn't wait to get out of this organization.

Thrill,

I hope, for the sake of the baseball operations, that Magowan sees it that way.

It could be an ill-advised hooker, some weed in his desk or a run in with the police. Anything. Whatever it takes to get Sabean out. If the Giants can remove him AND save face and present themselves in better light, all the better.

I'm not in Sabean's shoes. I'm not a GM with the pressure of dealing with larger than life personalities and mulit-million dollar contracts, but it is unconscionable to me that Sabean ducked the issue and tried to put the onus onto Stan Conte to confront the players. I think it just says a lot about the character of Sabean and if I were the owner I would really have to ask myself if this is the guy I want running my organization.

Just sayin'
