good draft so far for the niners

I like Willis and Staley, who hopefully will replace Kwame at RT

I am a little disappointed that they traded their 2nd round pick to the Colts, because I would have like them to snag Jarrett and that spot.... they do get the Colts 1st rounder next year which makes up for the 1st rounder they gave to NE for Staley

even though it looks like the trade for Jackson will go through, he is always injured and Jarrett would have been a nice security blanket if Jackson doesnt pan out

From Matt Maiocco's blog:

3:28 p.m.: Staley might line up at left tackle next week during the first full-squad minicamp, as Jonas Jennings is not expected to participate due to offseason shoulder surgery. The 49ers made the trade with the Patriots. The 49ers gave up their first-round pick next year and a fourth-round pick, No. 110 overall tomorrow, to move up to get Staley. When told the 49ers surrendered a first-round pick next year for his services, Staley said, "I'll fulfill that." Coach Mike Nolan said Staley was the final player they were hoping to get from within the 20 players they evaluated as legitimate first-round picks.
-------

So, think of this way, the 49ers aren't confident that Jennings can stay healthy so they get their franchise LT Staley to learn behind Jennings until they decide to trade him or he gets hurt. Snyder would be the guy to start over Kwame.

Jennings will still be the LT and Staley on the right side, at least thats what the 49ers want. I think so highly of Staley that I think he'll be the best pick from this draft class, which was very good. The 49ers had him graded higher than Levi Brown, who went 5th to Arizona and they weren't alone. He might be good enough to move to LT in a couple years.
