niners are trying to trade up to #2

I think I am having a Pat Summerall moment. I thought it was Arlington Stadium. Who gives a !@#$ what it's called - it's the house of POOP! And the Germans discovered San Deeahgo.

I think the o-line is good, would be great if it wasn't for Kwame Harris. Also I would rather have CJ-Siler than Willis-Jarrett.

emoticon totally... but even Kwame was better in 2006. Did you notice his false starts plummeted?

This would cost too much!! As good as that kid could be, it's not worth it. They need the draft picks. They have more picks than anyone in the first day.

PLus, drafting #2 means you have to pay big money.

Good point. BUT as we've seen in the past couple years, York is ready to spend the cash. Here's the thing... we need a #1 WR more than anything else at this point. (With the possible exception of a safety?) Johnson is far and away a BEAST as far as WRs go. Makes perfect sense to me.

#2 pick would cost about, the #11 overall pick, the #42 overall pick, next years 1st rounder, and next years 2nd rounder.

Which side of the line do the p-ussies stand on again? No way I would give up all those draft picks.

And given that there are seldom Sure Things in any sort of draft, I just can't see it making a lot of sense. If you blow your wad on one pick, then you're forced to go spending to fill other gaps, causing the Niners to get back into their salary cap mess.

Granted, they fell into draft quandries by being really good for a long time and having to pick further back, but if you take the time to stockpile picks, why not use them?

Mel Kiper Jr. just said that given the chance to draft Reggie Bush or Calvin Johnson, he would draft Johnson in a heartbeat. He called him The Prototypical WR. This could be the usual draft day overhype, but at the same time, I remember last year with all the bigheads calling Bush the 2nd coming and basically handing him the keys to Canton. Either way, the concensus is, nearly _everyone_ on the board this year wants Johnson. Even Mullin is considering drafting YET ANOTHER wideout this year, and that should say something emoticon

That being said, it is of course a pipe dream that we would ever come close to getting Johnson. With Oakland, Tampa Bay, Detroit, etc etc etc all drooling over him, the price would be ridiculously high. emoticon
