He came in with 2 runners on. Walked Gonzalez on four pitches, although it looked like he was pitching him carefully. He then gave up a bloop hit to left by Bard. It wasn't hit all that hard Then retired Cameron on a hanging slider it looked like to end it.

The walk was fine, just like the walk the night before was fine.
The bloop came off a good pitch.

If Linden were even a serviceable OF, he would have gotten to Bard's "hit."
Can't believe the hate you guys have for Armando.

I don't care about Bard's hit, really. It's that the pressure was on (albeit lightly) and suddenly the improved stuff and command that Benitez had exhibited all Spring were MIA.

Did Benitez get out of it? Yes.
Was Bard's hit a cheepie? Absolutely.
Did Benitez look like a respectable closer? Hell no.

He definitely dodged a bullet with the two meatballs he threw to Cameron.

I was cringing each time he fouled them off.

And while I don't like the booing, or the reception Mando gets at the park, it is not hard to understand why he gets no love here. He shows up to camp with a fat new contract, overweight and out of shape, stinks on ice when he pitches, then he promptly gets hurt. All while sporting a bad attitude and and a seeming indifference to the outcome of his contribution. Perhaps their anger should be directed at Sabean for signing him in the first place, but he doesn't go out on the field to be booed. While I won't boo or hate on him at the park, I can certainly understand why some do.

I don't trust Benitez. This came up last year with some facts regarding his behavior and relationship with the team and coaches.

I think he purposely lost games last year because he's a spoiled punk and I think he'll end up doing the same this year.
