04/05/07 - Giants vs Padres
GAMEBALL and JERK OPENING DAY
THURSDAY 04/05 SAN DIEGO PADRES at SF GIANTS
GAMEBALL
RAY
In my mind there are two basic kinds of position players..... The kind that don’t work hard in the offseason and flame out about 34, and the rest who continue to be productive into the mid to late 30’s.....
So coming off his most productive year with the bat, a 35 going on 36 year old Ray looks like he doesn’t want to slow down like Bonilla, or Tartabull, or Alomar...no Ray is looking like he has relishing his new role as cleanup hitter and has even taken this new found pride into the field with unexpected solid D at 2nd .......
Yes, looks like Ray has picked up where he left off and came up with the HUGE bases juiced, 2 out, full count, tie game FRRROZEN RRRROPE to Right to send the Giants into the lead.......
So Ray, in game 3 you get your 2nd GAMEBALL, and if these first few games are any indication.....resigning your bat may just be the Giants BEST offseason move.......
TIP OF THE CAP
ROBERTS
Scored the first run of the game, and made a good play diving to rob Khalil of a single.....
But really his walk and stolen base started off the Giants big inning.....putting Hensley into the stretch and maybe taking just a little of his concentration off of Omar.....And god I love the way the infield dirt gets caked on the front of that creme colored jersey..... and notice Dave makes no attempt to brush it off, wearing it like a badge of honor.....
SANCHEZ
Damn, this kid is so raw you could get explosive diarrhea just by looking at him.....
But that effortless slider fastball combo from the low slot is soooo freaking nasty, when he is hitting his spots.....he can’t be touched.......
Could you imagine if he could come up with an average changeup????
And THATS why scouts are so high on this kid
VINNIE
The mouth breather had his stuff working tonight, looking as nasty as Accardo ever did......if Vinnie could be more consistent night to night would go a long way to strengthening the Giants pen
BARRY
Who needs legs????
Barry did it again with another arm swing
Barry did more 1st inning damage, with a run scoring double in the first inning....
Batting 3rd???? Genious
Getting him to agree???? Good managing....
Now lets convince him to move back to the leadoff spot....
BOCHY
You can disagree with a few things Bochy did tonight.....but you HAVE to acknowledge two things he did right....
Aurilia at 3rd
Letting setup men pitch WHOLE INNINGS......
KLESKO
The more you hit, the less Pedro plays.....
Klesko made a case for more playing time by spraying 3 hits including one run scoring single.....
MATTY MO
That curveball looks 1000x better in the cold dank air of San Francisco..... Matty came up large when the Giants needed him to stop the doom and gloom that had infested airwaves and the fanbase
JERK
:jerk:
MANDO
Yes, you got the save....
Yes, you “did your job”
But the way you were throwing, you were lucky there was only one out to get....
Hanging Sliders and Meaty Straightballs are eventually gonna get pegged like the FAT KID in DODGEBALL......
If that wasn’t enough, you dance around the strikezone and walk the tying run to the plate, and then give up a bloop single to bring up the go ahead run.....
Then one, but TWO location mistakes over the HEART of the PLATE get fouled back by the powerful Cameron made out collective hearts stop for a moment.....
But honestly, Mando... the most frustrating thing you bring to the mound is that silly !@#$ grin.... like you are better than all this......
If you ever were a lights out closer worthy of such reverence, you certainly aren’t that guy now.....
So wipe that dumb ass grin off your face, buckle down and pitch you JERK......
Because at this point in your career, the only outs you are gonna get are because you have become pitcher.....just do me a favor and learn it on another team, cause your welcome here has worn out..........
SMACK OF THE STICK
KLINE
Kilne didn’t look too bad, but he put a couple of runners on and let Mando into the game.......
Of course Mando allows both of Kline’s runners to score, without giving up a run of his own..... so THATS the secret to Mando’s low ERA.... come in with a few outs to get......or come in where you can only give up a run or two before the game ends.....
SABES
Two Words.....
Pedro !@#$ Feliz
Another two words
Randy !@#$ Winn
Now, for a moment think what these guys would be worth on the open market......
What, you say there is no interest????
You say no one would sign them for a starting job?????
Well then , why don’t we give them a combined $13 million in salary.....
$13 Million in 2007 salary???
That figure sounds familiar.....
Oh Yeah.... two more words
Vladimir !@#$ Guerrero

--- Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

Bochy is already better than Felipe - - Feliz is sitting.
Well...Alfonzo vs. Hoffman? Still can't figure that one out.
