The team ERA for Colorado is lowest it has been in the history of the franchise It was under four for only the second time ('95). I think that has more to do with Helton's number than testing. Helton has always been a double hitters, he just a got HR boost from Coors. He's averaged 47BB a year and 33 HR in his career. His split for home/away HR numbers and consistent on the road for the past five season (12, 10, 10, 7, 7-played fewer games in '06 and '05) averaging 9.2 road HRs per season, while the home numbers (18, 23, 21, 13, 8) averaging 16.6 Home HR. As the pitching stats have improved at Coors, the HR numbers have decreased. So, please, STOP IT! This is the second thread in two weeks accusing someone of steroid use with absolutely no legitimate reason. If we accuse every player of steroid use, the terrorists win....wait.. I don't know, somebody besides the fans win. nondisclosed_email@example.com (chefjuan)Sun, 24 Dec 2006 11:59:57 +0000 Re: Todd Helton to the Angels??https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388601,from=rss#post388601https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388601,from=rss#post388601quote:FATALFART wrote: helton has no power, hes been reduced to doubles hitter since testing started. You are correct sir. He is truly a different player now. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Cain43)Sat, 23 Dec 2006 00:50:20 +0000 Re: Todd Helton to the Angels??https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388598,from=rss#post388598https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388598,from=rss#post388598helton has no power, hes been reduced to doubles hitter since testing started.nondisclosed_email@example.com (FATALFART)Fri, 22 Dec 2006 21:37:31 +0000 Re: Todd Helton to the Angels??https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388587,from=rss#post388587https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388587,from=rss#post388587Rockies shouldnt trade Helton. Helton still has power and the Rockies need power. nondisclosed_email@example.com (ultimategiantsfan)Fri, 22 Dec 2006 18:04:13 +0000 https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388571,from=rss#post388571https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388571,from=rss#post388571Gosh I sure hope not. Helton's contract is single handily holding back the entire Rockies franchise. That team has some good young talent and I like the trade they just did to get Willy Tavares to play CF. If they can get some decent pitching, they could be pretty good IMO. Better for them to be financially strapped with Helton than to acquire more young talent for him. Just sayin' nondisclosed_email@example.com (22TheThrill)Fri, 22 Dec 2006 13:21:59 +0000 Todd Helton to the Angels??https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388569,from=rss#post388569https://boardsfgiantsfans.runboard.com/p388569,from=rss#post388569The Angels and Rockies have resumed discussing a Todd Helton deal more than 2 1/2 weeks after talks originally broke down. The Rockies weren't going to pick up enough of the $90.1 million Helton is owed over the next five years to get a deal done the first time. However, it's GM Dan O'Dowd who got the ball rolling again, offering to eat a little more salary and take a lesser third player than Jeff Mathis. The Rockies would want both Casey Kotchman and Erick Aybar in a trade, but that probably won't be a sticking point. A trade still seems like a bit of a long shot. Even if all of the hurdles are cleared, Helton could use his no-trade clause to block a deal. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Headlines.aspx?sport=MLBnondisclosed_email@example.com (Giants 1)Fri, 22 Dec 2006 13:12:51 +0000
