Suppan Update

gross!

The Cardinals' only offer to keep free agent Jeff Suppan was for less than $20 million over three years.
Jeff Weaver is a better bet than Suppan to stay in St. Louis. The Brewers and Giants are the leading candidates for Suppan right now. If the Blue Jays are interested, they've been keeping it quiet lately.

Rumor is also the Giants have offered Zito more money than the Mets!?!?!?!?!

Makes sense if the Giants don't think they can sign a big bat, e.g. Andruw Jones, next year. Might as well sign a better starting pitcher this year.

Just sayin'

Make a 4-year commitment to fill a short term hole? Fantastic.

Since next years team will sink & stink i'd rather them save their $$ for a better free agent crop. I'm pissed as hell they gave dave roberts a 3yr deal.

Re: Suppan Update

Agent Scott Leventhal said the Brewers, Pirates and one mystery team were the most serious suitors for free agent Jeff Suppan to date.
The Pirates made him an offer earlier this month, but talks reportedly cooled off last week. "The Pirates are still very interested in Suppan," Leventhal said. "And the feelings are mutual." The Brewers say they haven't made an offer yet. The other team currently in the mix could be the Giants.

Please PLEASE no...

Re: Suppan Update

Are you all crazy?
- Suppan is a solid ballplayer (if we can get him).
-Roberts will be fun to watch (Brett Butler anyone?)
-Klesko is a low risk, high reward signing
-Molina - Good bad and will communicate well with the staff
-Aurillia - If you are a true Giants fan you would at least give him a chance to regain form and/or duplicate last year's numbers
- Feliz - Great defense (one year people)
- Durham - Has been a great Giant and if healthy will continue to be a great Giant
- Bonds - makes them competitive this year; if you didn't sign you would all be mad

It's time to start looking forward to the season and cetainly time to stop complaining (especially if we get Zito).

Bunch of whining babies
